THE STRANGEST GINGER-BOOK&COVER#01
Adobe Photoshop/InDesign
Through repeated observation, I began to see these natural ingredients as individuals with personalities. Each piece of ginger looks different, just like every human being has a unique face and presence. Inspired by this idea, I began to pair and name them, creating a symbolic society made entirely of ginger.
In Chinese culture, ginger holds deep meaning. It’s not only used to flavor food, but also to remove fishy smells, brew tea for colds, warm the body, or be boiled with brown sugar during special days. Ginger is everywhere—comforting, healing, quietly present.
This project is an exploration of renaming the everyday, projecting cultural meaning, and observing vitality in the ordinary. It’s a tribute to things that exist without needing definition.
