Retro TV is and experimental motion short that explores “media memory” and visual repetition by simulation the look and feel of old analog television. It evokes a sense of nostalgia and media anxiety rooted in the pre-digital broadcast era.

The piece centers around the CRT television aesthetics of the 1980s and ’90s, using screen flickers, static noise, and distorted colors to construct a visual space that feels both retro and strangely futuristic. The television serves not only as an object but as a symbolic medium of both watching and being watched.

As the camera gradually pulls away, the viewer becomes aware of observing a looping visual apparatus—less a channel switch, more an immersive experiment in technology and memory. Retro TV is a personal reflection on visual consumption and the evolution of media devices, and an attempt to reframe nostalgia as a contemporary design language.
